A fine pair of early 19th century mahogany hall chairs circa 1810-20, attributed to Gillows. Each with a carved moulded back veneered in flame Cuban mahogany which is an additional sign of quality. Painted with a coat of arms, the crest depicting hands holding a globe.
Shaped and dished seats on particularly elegant turned and moulded outswept front legs with square section back legs joined by a shaped stretcher.
