A rare and charming early 19th century fruitwood tea caddy in the form of an apple. Unusually this example has an ormolu mount to the lid which appears to be original. Original lock, lock pin and hinge. Replacement escutcheon. Good colour and patina. Georgian period circa 1820.

Measures 9cm h x 9cm diameter.
