A wonderful early 18th century carved giltwood mirror. Arched Baroque form. Possibly made by the Pelletier family, influenced by the designs of Daniel Marot. Finely carved with Huguenot strapwork decoration. The original gilt is nicely worn in places revealing the red bole under-colour. Early mirror plate. Later backboard.
