Pair of stylish country house mahogany hall chairs of unusual form. George III period. Circa 1800. The large circular wheel-backs are turned with central bulls-eye roundels. The circular backs are reflected in the circular seats. These contrast with the severity of the square-shaped tapering legs. Although there is a minor height difference between the 2 chairs, this is less obvious when they stand further apart. Good colour and patination.
Dimensions: 49 L x 45 W x H 100 ; seat height 45.5 cm (approx for each).
